What Will You Do?

• Conduct the necessary inspections and audits in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation, company procedures, and management systems, and report any non-conformities to the relevant management.

• Request and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions to eliminate unsafe conditions and behaviors.

• Carry out or coordinate risk assessments, emergency management activities, incident investigations, and field inspection programs.

• Provide recommendations for improving OHS performance and monitor the effectiveness of implemented actions.

• Ensure the effective execution of OHS activities by working in coordination with employees, contractors, Occupational Health and Safety Service Providers (OSGB), and other relevant stakeholders.

• Make the necessary notifications and reports when identifying situations that threaten the health and safety of employees or practices that violate legal requirements or company rules.

• Have the authority to provide information, consultancy, and awareness activities regarding occupational health and safety.

• Be responsible for performing assigned duties accurately, completely, and within the required timeframe.

What Are We Looking For?

• Have a Class A Occupational Safety Specialist Certificate.

• Have at least 3 years of experience in Underground Metal Mining.

• Possess knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, and related legal requirements, and be able to monitor and adapt to regulatory changes.

• Have knowledge and experience in risk assessment, hazard identification, and risk control methodologies.

• Possess the knowledge required to manage emergency preparedness and response activities, including emergency plans and drills.
• Be capable of conducting occupational accident, near-miss, and non-conformity investigations, and performing root cause analysis.

• Be able to conduct field inspections, identify unsafe conditions and behaviors, and plan and follow up on the necessary corrective actions.

• Be capable of identifying OHS training needs, coordinating training programs, and delivering information effectively to employees.

• Have knowledge of the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System and other integrated management systems.

• Be able to prepare, update, and maintain OHS procedures, work instructions, risk assessments, and other management system documentation.

• Possess data management and analytical skills to evaluate OHS-related reports, records, and performance indicators.
